Come get FRESH with PromoKitchen!!

In the Spirit of FRESH, our PromoKitchen Mixer is going to be held on a FRESH new platform called Wonder.me!

To help you get comfortable with the platform in advance, we’ve prepared this video for you to see how to get set up. Bonus: the video is less than 4 minutes long!

Demo Video: https://bit.ly/35bL3mV

Demo Video Transcript: https://bit.ly/2MxbRYn

Did that speed by too quickly? You can watch it as many times as you’d like! Or click on the cog in the bottom right corner of the video and adjust the playback speed to .5x or .75x.

The link for the platform will be sent out on the morning of January 11, 2020 - the day of the event. Note: you do not need to ‘create/register for’ an account. Just click the link, enter your name, enable your video/audio, and allow the platform to capture your photo.

Best Practices:

  • Do not join via Mobile/Tablet. The platform is not mobile friendly.

  • Use the Chrome browser.

  • No VPN’s. Company firewalls could prevent entry if you have a strong firewall.

  • There is no virtual background option. Don’t be afraid to show us your mess!

  • Once you have joined Wonder, you will see your avatar (photo) and different rooms (rectangles) with circles in them.

  • Use a mouse. A trackpad is usable but navigation is more difficult.

  • Audio/Video issues usually clear up in a few minutes.

Looking for a particular person in the Mixer?

Check out the Participants list---click on this to see who is logged in. If you hover over the participant’s name, they will be highlighted on your screen so you can go to them.

How do you move around in Wonder? Click the open space in the direction you’d like to move, and your avatar will follow. Click and hold the mouse to move your avatar faster!

Tip: You can also click and drag your avatar around. Zoom in before dragging to have more control.

What is a Room?

A room is how we organize discussion topics and conversation starters. It is indicated by a grey rectangle and can contain multiple circles. Each room is labeled with a discussion topic or fun name.

Our rooms are

  • New to PK/Industry -- On Wednesdays we wear orange.

  • Get Social -- Let’s network and get to know our peers. Let’s taco-bout it!

  • PromoNerds -- Come share your best resources & practices. Sharpen your saw and stay FRESH

  • PK Mentorship -- Calling all current, past, and future mentors & mentees. Learn about the PK Mentorship program and how you can get involved!

  • It’s 5pm Somewhere -- Belly up to the Bar. No Uber necessary.

What is a Circle?

A Circle is a conversation group that you can join. Each circle must have a minimum of 2 people to be formed. The maximum is 15 people per circle. (Friendly reminder: you can have multiple circles in a room.) Think of this as walking up to a group of people talking at a party! The discussion circles can be found/created inside or outside of the rooms.

If you are not able to join the circle, this means there are 15 people in that circle already, so please grab a friend and create a new one!

If you’d like to zoom in to see the faces of your circle cohorts, click on one of their faces. To exit this full screen mode and return to viewing the Mandalay floor and rooms, click the two diagonal arrows.

To create a NEW circle:

Move your avatar over to the person with whom you wish to form a Circle. Let your avatar hover over the other avatar until a new Circle forms!

If you see someone you want to connect with, right-click their avatar in the Mixer (not the chat) and click “Invite to Circle”. If the person is not already in a circle, they’ll get a pop-up chat invitation from you and by clicking the checkmark, they’ll automatically move to you and form a circle.

Chat: Everyone/Private

You can use the private chat to connect with attendees individually, send contact information, etc. In the public chat, we will share troubleshooting links and other pertinent info. #Receiptsare4life

Troubleshooting Tips

If you lose your screen at any time during the mixer, you can click on the double arrows in the top left corner to bring the Rooms and Circles back up.

If you have any audio issues such as delays or trouble hearing other attendees, give the platform a moment to adjust. Most audio issues work themselves out with no action on your part, so just be patient.
